I really like writing so i thought I'd make a place where we can communicate and share our experiences. Today has gone well. I emailed in my weight this morning. I haven't taken my measurements yet, but plan on doing it right now. I'm going to the store to get some helpful food to have around. I went on a run with Jen Berry during the conference break and she is a fast runner so I really got a run for my money. It felt great. I roasted cauliflower, carrots and onions and had it with my lunch and dinner. So yum. I was lucky I already had some dark chocolate around because i'm having mini cadbury egg withdrawal.
You guys can contribute if you want, but no pressure. I can also make it private, if you would like. I would be willing to share my before and after pictures with you guys but probably not on Facebook. I took a million before pictures and didn't like any of them.
Thanks for doing this. My attitude has already changed now that I know we are working together. I've been so unmotivated lately.
Yay Sally! You can give up the eggs! I'm too am having some chocolate withdrawals. But mine is the Lindt milk chocolate. They made these little eggs this year for Easter and Brian has been bringing them home. So, I hid them all up high in the cupboard so I don't accidentally eat one. You would be surprised at how many times a day I randomly reach for candy.
ReplyDeleteYour awesome Sally! Thanks for putting all this together. I'd love to see your before and after pics....but mine are pretty bad so I don't want them on the internet. And thanks for posting, it helps with my motivation.
I'm happy to report we don't have any candy in the house. I am a candy cheater but I have no desire to cheat right now. I think I like this challenge. I'm feeling motivated and positive.
DeleteHi Team! I'm sorry to say that I'm not off to a great start. I did email my weight. I knew today would be a difficult day to start because I'm in Utah this weekend helping my Dad move my Mom from a care center in SLC to an assisted living place closer to Park City where they live (long story). Anyway I've been here since Thursday and we got everything moved over and the room set up and fixed up nice. This morning Mike and my Dad drove to SLC to pick her up for the "move" and she had 102 fever so they couldn't discharge her. They came back to PC and we went to the assisted living place to finish up some stuff there then were driving down to Draper to celebrate our daughter's birthday and then to see my Mom and we were in a car accident. My car is un drivable but we are all OK. That's the important thing! We did however learn as the highway patrol was driving us to Draper that my Mom has pneumonia. So all in all not the best day, but I'm glad we are OK and my Mom is being treated. Being up here I've been unable to even access the food list but I am anxious to get going and really need this motivation. Thanks for getting us going Sally!!
ReplyDeleteI left you a comment but I'm not sure it will email you unless I reply to your comment here.
DeleteKaren, that is rough! I'm sorry about your mom. You mentioned that she is in a care center but being moved to an assisted living place; I hope she recovers well and can be closer to family soon. Also, sorry about your car but I'm glad you are alright. Please keep us updated so we don't worry and don't let this contest add any stress to you right now. And if you need to stay longer to look after your mom / get a car, let me know what I can do for you here. I'll be glad to water plants, grab your mail, or whatever. xoxo
DeleteHi Karen. What a day you had yesterday! I'm so glad you are all okay. I hope your mom starts to heal. I put the food list up for you on the right of this page. Day two is going well. I thought I was a good water drinker but judging from how much I've been going to the bathroom, I don't think I was drinking enough.
ReplyDeleteDay 2 is hard! I keep opening and shutting the candy cupboard. It is like a nervous tick. Doing good in the other areas. Any word from Jayleen?
ReplyDeleteYou guys are terrific - thanks for all of your support. We came home yesterday evening. The car will have to be fixed in Utah and we will have to go get it later. We stopped and saw my Mom on the way home yesterday and she seemed somewhat better. It will be best not to move her until she's on the mend - maybe later this week. My Dad says he can do that, now that we have her room all set up. My kids who live there will help him too if he needs it, then we will go back up and see her when we pick up the car. Kind of crazy, but I'm grateful for so many things that did go right, which is a lot! I filled out my first two days of the food log when I got home last night and was happy to find out that I did some things right! Today is a new day and I'm excited. I walked over three miles this morning and then cleaned house for two hours. That had to burn off a few calories. I did download Map My Walk and I'm really liking that! I'm walking further than I thought, but the calorie burn off is less than I would've guessed. Good to know though :)
ReplyDeleteStay away from the candy cupboard JQ! I'm going to be going through sugar withdrawals here pretty soon.... Have a great day!
